    Warhammer and Warhammer Online
    4 Comments...

I play Warhammer and Warhammer Fantasy table top . I also used to play the Warhammer fantasy role playing game when I was in highschool.. Right now I’m doing my damnedest to assemble and paint models for my new Warhammer Orks Army.

I love those little green bastards but I have a billion of them to paint.. (Okay, a billion might be a bit of an exaggeration, but not by much.) Over the years I have had Necron, Tau and Orks as my armies, and Orcs & Goblins, Skaven and Tomb Kings as my Fantasy armies. I played the role playing game for years and really preferred it to D&D or any of the other traditional role playing systems..

I tell you this so that you will come away with the understanding that I have a pretty good idea about the Warhammer universe and to convey to you how absolutely excited I was about Warhammer Online, Age of Reckoning. I had long thought this universe was ripe for computer .

    Super Heroes is st00pid

City of Heroes (and thus City of Villains) is one of those sleeper that has a lot of hidden depth. I played for almost a year starting back in Feb. 2005 when it first came out. I like to refer to it as Lite.

It’s a good game, and a good starter game for those who aren’t really sure about the whole scene. It’s very simple to play and enjoy, and doesn’t bog you down with many of the more complex aspects. For new comers to the market, its perfect. It’s how I got my wife into ’s and now I can’t get her away from the computer.. heh (”I just have this one last quest to do..” “Uh huh.. sure honey.. ” heh) Read More

I was asked the other day why I don’t update my website more often..    A fine question, and I can only offer one answer..  I just don’t want to..

Er let me amend that.. I do want to.. I mean I enjoy doing this stuff, but I do it all day long!   I’m one of those lucky guys who managed to turn a into a career, but in so doing; I lost my .

I program and work on , all.. day.. long..  I don’t much care to come home and do it some more.  Its the main reason some of my online projects are suffering.  It’s not that I don’t wish to make something of them, I just can’t get in the mood to do it. Read More

Ubuntu, Wine and World of Warcraft

I am far from a “fanboi”, in fact until recently I didn’t really use all that much at all.. All of my are played in WindowsXP simply because there really is no other option… or is there?

I have been using quite a lot at work, and really like where is going. Pretty much everything about it leads me to think that Microsoft should be worried. (Apple has nothing to fear, simply because they are a hardware company..)

Ubuntu is awesomeAnyway, after having XP tell me for the umpteenth time that I had “unused icons on my desktop”.. (Yes I know.. I PUT THEM THERE..) I decided to install on my game machine and try to get WoW working. I figured I’d be in a long and protracted fight, an impossible up hill battle with a colossal fight at the end! I couldn’t have been more wrong — but I get ahead of myself.

    Games should be fun
    No Comments...

So I have been playing Eve Online again a bit and have been thinking about it and what it does “wrong”. I’m trying to focus on what should have been done so that new like Infinity Earth don’t fall into the same trap. I just hope the new will listen and take note.

First let me start by saying that I think is a beautiful game and can be fun once you get DEEP into the game, and it’s certainly challenging. However a new players experience is terrible and doesn’t give any clues as to what is to come later, more over the PVE aspect of the game is down right bad which means new players are forced to deal with experienced players in a PVP realm often resulting in repeated trouncings with no end in sight.

Is it any wonder that many new players leave pretty quick? Think of what kind of power house this game would be if it’s new player experience was just a bit better..
